Alexa's work focuses on the exploration of body and environment as both one and separate simultaneously. Her interest is to explore the boundaries between things, specifically ideas of identity, communication, and perspective. She invites a multidisciplinary process combining dance with painting.
Professionally Alexa has experience as a prop & fashion stylist with brands such as Apple, Levi’s, Google, and Neiman Marcus. She has worked in commercial and residential interior design as a designer and project manager, as well as managing internal operations, product development, and brand experience.
Alexa studied communications at U.C. Berkeley where she was exposed to the critical and social theory which has informed her work ever since. Having danced most of her life, she spent several years focused as a contemporary dancer until attending Syracuse University for her MA in Communication Rhetoric. Her Master’s project blended phenomenology, social theory, and dance, to produce a community movement workshop to reflect on identity construction and cultivate empathy.
